Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was left frustrated by a number of incidents and decisions following the first Merseyside derby of the new Premier League season.
The champions played out a 2-2 draw with their nearest neighbours at Goodison Park in Saturday's lunchtime game.
Klopp's side thought they had done enough though to come away with all three points via a winner from Jordan Henderson in the 90th minute.
VAR then ruled that Sadio Mane was narrowly offside in the build-up.

The German boss addressed the decision while speaking to BT Sport at full-time.
"In the dressing room I saw back the Henderson goal and the pass for Sadio [Mane] and I didn't see offside.
"Maybe somebody could explain it to me? The picture I saw was not offside but it was because somebody decided that it was."
The Reds boss also briefly addressed the heavy first-half tackle from Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford on Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk that saw the defender have to go off and many calling for a red card for the Toffees keeper.
"He clearly takes him out of it, but I didn't see it back."
And he was also left frustrated by the Richarlison tackle on Thiago late on in the second half that saw the Brazilian sent off.
"It was not only a red card for Everton but it's a massive foul on Thiago as well.
"We don't know what he has but it looks not good to be honest."
In terms of the Liverpool performance, Klopp was impressed with his players; perhaps adding more to his frustrations with the result.
"The performance was top.
"You could see it was a top game, a good game from both teams.
"We were clearly dominant against a side full of confidence with a clear plan.
"We played a really good game, that was probably the best away game since I've been at Liverpool that we played at Goodison and in the end it was 2-2 for different reasons."
This game was Liverpool's first since the international break and marked their return to Premier League football since their 7-2 hammering by Aston Villa at Anfield two weeks ago.
"I would be more happy if we win but the performance was the response [to the Aston Villa loss].
"I wanted to see that we change the team that we were, even after a proper knock.
"The game was brilliant but it's over, we got one point, should we have three? Maybe, yes. We cannot change that anymore but that's the situation.
"The game was good, I cannot say any more about it.
"I loved it in so many moments - how we played football against such a good organised side but 2-2.
"We were superior in the game, we dominated it but both teams get the point and that's how it is."
