Liverpool survived an almighty scare at Anfield on Wednesday night - losing a 3-0 lead to eventually beat Salzburg 4-3 in their Group E Champions League clash.
Sadio Mane had the hosts ahead inside the first 10 minutes with a wonderful goal before Andy Robertson got his first of the season to double their lead.
With just over 35 minutes on the clock, Mo Salah made it 3-0 and it looked like the Reds were going to shoot the lights out against the Austrians as the game seemed to be as good as over.
Just three minutes later though Hee-Chan Hwang scored for the visitors and then after the break goals from Takumi Minamino and Erling Braut Haaland suddenly saw it level as Liverpool were caught out for uncharacteristic defensive errors from Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.
Then, with 20 minutes left to play, Mo Salah got his second after a particularly impressive headed assist from Roberto Firmino.
Having lost their first group game 3-0 to Napoli anything but a win here would have made Jurgen Klopp's side's defense of their title more complicated than it needs to be.
The Reds boss was relieved at full-time;
"It's better you learn the lesson in the game.
"We obviously started incredibly well in that game. We were outstanding in the first 25-30 minutes.
"Then Salzburg changed the system which didn't really cause us that many problems in possession the only problem was our mood.
"There was a mix of a couple of players who wanted to control the game, a couple of players were still really lively, but we were not in that defending mood anymore.
"Because of the system change when we lost the ball then constantly they had one free player between the lines so that caused us problems obviously."
Elsewhere in this group, Genk surprisingly held Napoli to a scoreless draw in Belgium.
That will give them confidence as they prepare to face the champions in back-to-back fixtures later this year.
Chelsea came away from Lille with three points thanks to a Tammy Abraham goal on his 22nd birthday and one as well from Willian that canceled out Victor Osimhen's equaliser for the hosts.
The Pensioners sit third in Group H following the result that marked Frank Lampard's first Champions League win.
"It feels really good" he said at full-time.
"This is a really hard place to come and add to that the pressure of not beating Valencia in the first game, and we're young.
"This is the first time for a few of our players to travel in Europe which is hard anywhere and against a Lille team which we saw the attacking threats they had in parts of the game.
"I thought we played really well. First-half; the way we played, we played three at the back, we moved the ball really quickly, we got our goal and again set-pieces is something we know we have to improve on we know we have to do better.
"In terms of the game as a whole - had a lot of possession, created chances away from home, I'm really pleased."
Elsewhere in this group, goals from Hakim Ziyech, Quincy Promes, and Donny van de Beek saw Ajax routinely beat Valencia 3-0 away from home to put last years semi-finalists top of the group on maximum points.
And two goals from Luis Suarez saved Barcelona's blushes at the Camp Nou as they came from behind to beat Inter Milan 2-1 to send them level on points with leaderds Dortmund in Group F.
