Limerick reach the EA Sports Cup semi-final

Limerick FC are through to the EA Sports Cup semi-finals.

The runaway First Division leaders claimed a 2-0 win over Galway United in tonight's quarter-final at the Markets Field.

Paudie O'Connor has scored the opening goal for the home side in the 27th minute when he latched onto a deflected free-kick to score past Galway keeper Kevin Horgan.

Shane Duggan made sure of the win for the home side just minutes after the restart. The win means that Limerick join Derry City, Shamrock Rovers and St Pats in the last-four.
