Kenny Cunningham believes Pep Guardiola will look to make "fundamental changes" at Manchester City based on the evidence of their Champions League semi-final loss to Real Madrid.
The Bayern Munich boss takes charge of City in the summer and although Kenny was not overly impressed by Real either, he feels tonight was a huge missed opportunity for the Premier League side and expects Guardiola to rip up the script.
"If I was Pep Guardiola, I'd be thinking 'I've got to change things, I've got to make huge changes here,'" he told Off The Ball tonight.
"Initially you look at the squad early in the season and you think he comes in and makes maybe one or two changes but having watched that performance this evening, that was pretty much their best XI on the pitch that actually started the game. They looked as if, whether it was a mental attitude amongst some of the players, maybe physically and some of them are at the end of the road - we know that Toure is physically in terms of the ability to get around the pitch. Fernandinho was the only one really in central midfield really hunting people down, trying to make tackles and influence the game and spark something. The rest of them were way off, even De Bruyne.
"So I might take the opposite approach. I'd be looking at that and performance this evening and think 'I've got to make fundamental changes', maybe even change the whole dynamic of this team because they weren't good enough."
