Kenny Cunningham on the reasons why Real Madrid won't win the Champions League

Kenny Cunningham feels that Real Madrid are too unbalanced to win this season's Champions League.

The La Liga giants beat AS Roma 2-0 tonight with goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Jese to put one foot in the quarter-finals.

But looking at the overall performance, Kenny feels Barcelona and Bayern Munich remain ahead of Roma.

"I'm not sure the balance in that central area of the pitch with Kroos, Isco and Modric, good technical players on the ball but not real physical presence and young Casemiro who played early on in the season under Benitez really impressed me. They probably haven't had a player like him in the Madrid team for quite some time and I think he's needed, just patrolling in front of the back four. He didn't play tonight," he said, while he feels Cristiano Ronaldo has started losing his "lightning space" but compensating that with his "football brain".

"That team tonight, I don't see them winning the competition, just for the reasons that I said. I don't see the balance there. They weren't really tested tonight by Roma, but I think a better drilled team - not even just Barcelona, I think Bayern Munich - would fancy themselves to open them up."
