Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Keiran Westwood and Peterborough midfielder Chris Forrester are among the names omitted from Martin O'Neill's 33-man squad for the forthcoming friendlies.
O'Neill named a 40-man squad earlier this month with seven players failing to make the final cut. Westwood and Forrester were omitted alongside Greg Cunningham, Darron Gibson, Paul Green, Simon Cox and Anthony Stokes.
There was good news for Brentford’s Alan Judge, Wolves' Matt Doherty and Aberdeen's Jonny Hayes who have survived the cut and may make their debuts month.
Ireland's first friendly is on Good Friday, March 25th against Switzerland in the Aviva Stadium.
