Tottenham Hotspur captain Harry Kane will make his long-awaited return from injury in the Premier League clash with Manchester United.
Spurs manager Jose Mourinho confirmed in today's pre-match press confernce that he will start the striker in Friday night's game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Kane's last appearance for the club was in the New Year's Day league defeat to Southampton before he underwent surgery on his hamstring and Mourinho admits that there will be question marks over the player.
"Harry Kane hasn't played football for more than six months," Mourinho said.
"He is working extremely well. I can tell you no problem he is going to start the game.
"Does Harry have 90 minutes, 80, 70, 60? I don't know. Only the game will tell us that.
"Is he in his top form? We don't know."
Kane featured as the Londoners played fellow Premier League club Norwich last Friday but Mourinho admits that is not the best indicator of form or fitness.
"It is not a little training session with our friends from Norwich that will tell us the answer but for him I don't know, he added.
"He has had six months without a football match but he has worked extremely well, he is an amazing professional and is going to start tomorrow."
Tottenham still have a very slim chance of qualifying for the Champions League via the top four, or even five, depending on the result of Manchester City's appeal to the CAS over their UEFA ban.
They are currently in eighth position in the table and seven points behind fourth placed Chelsea so as well as winning most of their last nine games, they will need the other four teams ahead of them to drop points.
"It is a strange battle to fight but at the same time it is a great challenge and a great motivation," said the Portuguese.
"I will try not to look at that points difference. That is why I cannot tell you exactly the difference in points we have to our opponents.
"We have to look to this incredible challenge in the way that every game we will try to win.
"At the end of the nine matches we will see what we did and what our opponents did.
"Normally in these fights you don't have to depend as much as we do on our direct opponents. That is really difficult.
"But let's focus on one match at a time.
"Tomorrow it is Manchester United, the points are there to fight for and that is what we are going to do."
