Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that he intends to offload Mario Balotelli to any clubs willing to take the striker on board.
Balotelli has returned to the club for pre-season training after a loan spell at AC Milan but is not in the manager's plans.
Sampdoria had previously expressed an interest in bringing the Italian back to his home country again and Klopp is encouraging interested clubs to begin bidding.
"[Balotelli's] not at the stage of his career where he should be battling with four or five players for one or two positions. So it's clear we need a solution. There will be a club who would be happy to have the new Mario Balotelli," he said.
Klopp has Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi, Roberto Firmino, Danny Ings and Christian Benteke to choose from up front, although the latter is likely to be sold as well.
New signing Sadio Mane can also feature in the forward line.
