Liverpool have another injury setback to contend with following the news that full-back Glen Johnson has been ruled out for up to a month with a groin strain suffered in Sunday's defeat at Manchester United.
Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers will be hoping the League Cup can bring some success after disappointing performances in the Premier League and Champions League so far this season.
Liverpool are away to Bournemouth in the quarter-finals tonight and although the south coast club are exceeding all expectations by sitting at the top of the Championship, Rodgers remains optimistic.
“We just need a little bit of luck and a little break and I think we’ll get that,” he said.
