John Giles believes Pep Guardiola should be given two seasons to try and get Manchester City back up to speed.
The Premier League team were a disappointment as they slumped out of the Champions League semi-finals last night and Guardiola clearly has a huge task in making them one of the very top sides in Europe after he takes charge this summer.
"I don't think he's moving into a great setup. He's got a big, big job to do getting rid of some of the players that are there on big money and getting in the players that he needs for Manchester City to be successful," John told Off The Ball.
"I think he can make certain signings in the summer. Obviously, he's a very successful manager. I think you'd have to give him two seasons at Manchester City to put it right.
"I think they've got very few players at Manchester City that's going to be up to the standard he would want."
