John Giles feels England manager Roy Hodgson's defence of Jamie Vardy after his dive last Sunday is a "total whitewash of the situation".
The Leicester striker was shown a second yellow card after referee Jonathan Moss adjudged that he had dived against West Ham.
But Hodgson doesn't believe Leicester's Jamie Vardy dived at the weekend - stating his belief that he lost his balance - and says his angry reaction to being sent off was "human".
John was on Off The Ball and feels that argument is flawed.
"It's a total whitewash of the situation. I would have certain amount of sympathy for Vardy because the first booking he got, I don't think he should have got. I thought the referee was very, very poor," he said.
"Vardy did what a lot of players do when they get through when they're being challenged.
"I thought the referee was very, very bad but he got that right and to say the way he reacts the way he did, having a go at the referee, that's just silly. And Hodgson saying 'well, that happens', it doesn't happen all the time."
John also gave his take on Everton and manager Roberto Martinez's future as their underachievement this season continues and feels that England international defender John Stones (21) "singled out far too much".

And he also feels that Ireland full-back Seamus Coleman is one of the best right-backs in the Premier League as the Everton player receives criticism in the local press.
Plus, John looked ahead to Everton's FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United, and gave his reaction to the PFA Team of the Year.
