John Giles isn't impressed with the Rooney-Ibrahimovic tandem or Pep's Joe Hart call

John Giles doesn't believe that Manchester United's forward partnership of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney is a good one.

Both can play deeper roles, although Rooney is nominally the No 10.

While John feels Jose Mourinho is taking the team in the right direction as the Manchester derby closes in, the Rooney-Ibrahimovic tandem is not to his liking.

"What I see of Ibrahimovic and Rooney, for example, I don't see it as a good partnership," he said on Off The Ball

"Now, they're raving about Ibrahimovic and he's scoring his goals which he's entitled to do but his general play, what I find with Rooney, is not good. I think Rashford will get in the team at some stage.

"With Ibrahimovic coming in, people are saying he's a great player over the years, which he has been at times. But when I've seen him in general play at Manchester United, I don't think it's been very good with Rooney. And I think Rashford will get into the team [instead of] either one of them."

On the Manchester City side, he feels "it's crazy" if Pep Guardiola removed Joe Hart from his plans if the decision is solely based on the goalkeeper's ball distribution.

"If that's the case, I would lose a lot of faith in Guardiola."
