John Giles was not left speechless by Yaya Toure's whingeing over his lack of birthday greetings from Manchester City, but he was completely stunned by the behaviour of the midfielder and his agent.
John joined us on the show tonight to chat about the week's big stories and had his say on Toure's apparent attempts to leave Man City out of the blue.
"I couldn't believe it when I read it. He's like a spoilt 6-year-old kid. It's unbelievable and even to try to get away with that excuse...he's a grown man, he's won the league, he's on £200K a week and he's insulted that they're not acknowledging his birthday. It's weird to say the least. I'd say the Manchester City supporters are absolutely disgusted with it. As valuable as he was last year, I think the general opinion is to let him go and get him out of the place," said John.
He also believes that it is "nonsense" that Man United assistant Ryan Giggs can be groomed for the top job in three years by Louis Van Gaal, and would not be surprised if the Welshman left Manchester United next summer.
He also believes that Luis Suarez leaving Liverpool this summer is not a foregone conclusion and would not be surprised if Neil Lennon has a new job lined up, adding that he understood why the Celtic manager left the role.
John who believes Sam Allardyce is often a self-promoter, explained why he feels the West Ham manager should have resigned over recent interference from the club's hierarchy over playing style.
He also shared his exasperation with the latest news regarding Stephen Ireland and the Boys in Green, saying that he would not have the Stoke midfielder anywhere near the squad based on current from.
John also gave his take on Atletico Madrid's chances in the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
