Last Wednesday May 11th 2016 happened to be the 20th anniversary of the 1996 FA Cup final between Manchester United and Liverpool.
Coincidentally, ex-Ireland and Liverpool player Jason McAteer happened to be in Dublin for the SPAR FAI Primary School 5s Programme at Aviva Stadium and Team 33 caught up with him to look back on memories of the '96 final and the "Spice Boys" tag.

McAteer, who also gave his take on whether the magic of the cup still exists as this weekend's final between Man United and Crystal Palace approaches, chatted about scoring his first Liverpool goal at the start of that FA Cup run with this goal against Rochdale in January 1996:
He also chatted about perceptions of that Liverpool team and how a swing of results in their favour against Man United in the league and cup that season could have seen the Spice Boys tag pinned on their great rivals.
But the ex-Ireland international also remembered his "Can I just say best of luck to Alan Stubbs at Celtic" message in the on-pitch interview before kick off - a story which had origins from the day Blackburn Rovers tried to sign both of them from Bolton a year earlier - only for Liverpool to intervene at the 11th hour in McAteer's case.
SPAR FAI Primary School 5s Programme ambassador and former Republic of Ireland International Jason McAteer was at the AVIVA Stadium to watch the SPAR FAI Primary School 5s National Finals where 192 girls and boys from 24 schools battled it out for national honours.
