Italian prosecutors want new Chelsea boss Conte to get suspended sentence

An Italian prosecutor wants new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte to be given a suspended six-month sentence for his alleged knowledge of match-fixing.

The Italy head coach, who will take over at Stamford Bridge after Euro 2016, denies any wrongdoing.

He is accused of sporting fraud, for failing to report an alleged fixed match while boss of Siena in 2011.

A ruling is expected by the middle of May.

Conte previously served a 10 month touchline, which was reduced to four months, while at Juventus in the 2012-13 season for failing to report match-fixing at Siena.
