When you look at Paris Saint-Germain's squad, they should be running away with Ligue 1.
Yet one of the most expensively teams in Europe trail Marseille, Lyon and Saint-Etienne in the race for the French league title.
Off The Ball's European football reviewer Ben Lyttleton believes Laurent Blanc's time at PSG is edging closer to the end after a chastening 4-2 defeat to Bastia, when they had been 2-0 up.
"It really does look like the players have fallen out of love - if they ever were in love - with Laurent Blanc," he said, adding that the Parisians may look to draft in a big name manager in the summer.
"The dressing room is seemingly split between the Brazilian and Italian bunch of Thiago Silva, Maxwell, Verratti, Motta and Ibra and the French-speakers who are most of the rest. There are some suggestions that the players want Blanc out."
Ben also described the Rome derby as an incredible game as second and third in Serie A played out a 2-2 draw at the Stadio Olimpico.
The evergreen Francesco Totti stole the headlines with a selfie celebration but of more importance were his two goals to prevent defeat as Roma hunt down Juventus in Serie A.
Ben explained how the 38-year-old is being used by manager Rudi Garcia this season.
"He's started 12 games out of 20 but he comes on as sub as well. He doesn't often finish games," said Ben, who also gave his take on Barcelona's 3-1 win over Atletico Madrid to cap a shaky week.
Indeed, he saw it as Barca's best performance of the season with the front three of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar dovetailing well.
But he believes that is is unlikely that Luis Enrique will be in charge next season even if he lasts to the end of this one.
