The common consensus ahead of Ireland's trip to Gelsenkirchen is that we might well be catching Germany at the right time.
The World Cup-winners lost 2 - 0 in Poland raising a few question marks over Jogi Loew's team who have many inexperienced players in their squad and a few apparent weaknesses in a few positions.
German sports journalist Marcus Bark was speaking to Off The Ball's Adrian Barry today in Germany and he feels the defeat to Poland was a "strange game" rather than a match that should ring alarm bells.
"I don't think Germany will have problems to qualify for the European Championships," he said, although he acknowledged injuries, a paucity of full-backs and the lack of experienced names like Philipp Lahm, Miroslav Klose and Per Mertesacker who have all retired.
He also felt that too many chances were missed in Warsaw on Saturday.
"I don't think they will have any problems to beat Ireland."
