Valencia recorded their biggest win of Gary Neville's reign on Thursday night after they defeated Rapid Vienna 6-0 in the Europa League.
The win follows Valencia's first La Liga win under Valencia last weekend against Espanyol. Graham Hunter spoke to Off the Ball, about Neville's tenure and how it might be about to change for the better, as players return to fitness.
"Pep Guardiola's abiding maxim is 'put your best players on the pitch'... Gary Neville hasn't been able to do that."
Hunter's says that Valencia's crucial players have been injured or unfit and with the return of players like Alvaro Negredo and Paco Alcacer has meant the team has improved.
Valencia's 7-0 loss to Barcelona may end up being the abiding memory of Neville's reign but Hunter thinks he has learned from that night in the Camp Nou. "Confidence and mentality make a huge difference. Against Rapid we have seen the cumulative benefits of good managerial work, good fitness work, experience of being backed by the team and one win given people a jolt of confidence.
Neville's side have a chance of continuing their good form at the weekend away to Granada.
