Scott Hogan is the joint-top scorer in The Championship after eight games.
The striker has scored six league goals in his last six games, including a hat-trick against Preston North End last weekend. After returning from injury last season, he ended the campaign with seven goals in seven games.
Hogan qualifies for the Republic of Ireland through three of his grandparents. In 2014 he was called up to the Under-21 Irish squad, but did not feature in a game.
According to the Irish Independent, Hogan is already on the radar of Swansea City ahead of the January Transfer Window. The Welsh side have scored four goals in the league with Leroy Fer getting three of them.
Hogan has been compared to Jamie Vardy in his path from non-league football. Both men have played for Stocksbridge Park Steels.
Martin O'Neill names his next squad this Friday for the October double-header against Georgia and Moldova in the World Cup qualifiers. Many will be looking for Hogan's name on the list.
