Ireland squad named but where's Grealish?

Ireland manager Martin O'Neill has named a provisional 36-man squad for next month's games against Scotland and the USA.

There is no place in the squad for Jack Grealish, despite some speculation that the Aston Villa youngster was going to earn a call-up for the friendly against the USA.

Hull City full-back Brian Lenihan has been included once again after he was drafted into the squad to provide cover before the recent qualifiers against Gibraltar and Germany.

Glenn Whelan has been selected, despite concerns over his fitness, but there is no place for Wes Hoolhan, who is struggling with a knee ligament injury.

Shay Given and Keiren Westwood are among five goalkeepers included in the extended panel, which will be shortened ahead of the players coming into camp on November 10th.

Squad: David Forde, Shay Given, Keiren Westwood, Darren Randolph, Rob Elliot; Richard Keogh, Marc Wilson, Seamus Coleman, John O’Shea, Alex Pearce; Brian Lenihan, Stephen Kelly, Paul McShane, Damien Delaney, Shane Duffy, James McCarthy, Jeff Hendrick, Ciaran Clarke, Stephen Ward, Glenn Whelan, Darron Gibson, Paul Green, Aiden McGeady, Anthony Pilkington, James McClean, Robbie Brady, Stephen Quinn, David Meyler, Robbie Keane
