The Republic of Ireland Women’s Team finished the Cyprus Cup on a high with a fully deserved 2-0 win over Euro 2017 opponents Finland at the Tassos Markos Stadium in Paralimni this morning.
Sue Ronan's side scored both goals inside the first 15 minutes. Ruesha Littlejohn gave the side an early lead from the penalty spot.

Louise Quinn doubled Ireland's lead on 13 minutes. The Eskilstuna United defender scored from a header in what was her fifth goal for Ireland.

The two goals were enough to put the Irish firmly in control of the game and they never relinquished their grip after that as they notched up an impressive and morale-boosting victory.
Ireland will resume their Euro 2017 qualifying campaign next month with a double-header against Montenegro and Spain and are due to meet the Finns again in June.
