Dundalk have got back to winning ways after a 1-0 victory at Wexford Youths.

The reigning League of Ireland champions, who are looking forward to Europa League group stage football after today's draw, were back in domestic action after indifferent Premier Division form of late.

But a David McMillan finish six minutes before half-time had them 1-0 up at Ferrycarrig Park.

Peter Higgins' red card on the hour left Wexford with 10-men as the league leaders took victory.

Title-chasing Cork City made sure to keep pace with Dundalk as they defeated Longford Town 5-2 in an entertaining clash at Turner's Cross.

Alan Bennett helped open the floodgates on six minutes before Sean Maguire added a first half-double, with the second of his goals coming from the penalty spot.
