Cork City have now moved back to within five points of league leaders Dundalk at the top of the table.
Elsewhere in the Premier Division, Shamrock Rovers held onto third place ahead of Derry City after Stephen McPhail's late equaliser helped Rovers to a 2-2 draw against the Candystripes at the Brandywell.
Ronan Curtis scored twice for Derry but Gary McCabe pulled one back before McPhail's late intervention.
And it finished scoreless between St. Pat's and Sligo Rovers at Richmond Park.
