In the haze of post-Brendan Rodgers hysteria, Jurgen Klopp has reminded Liverpool fans that he is not Jesus and therefore cannot perform miracles when he officially takes up the coaching reigns at Anfield.
Only three days have past since the former Borussia Dortmund boss was appointed the new manager of Liverpool, and already the fans are labeling the German as the Kop messiah who will end their 25-year thirst for Premier League glory.
But the charismatic leader is preaching patience to the masses and insists that a more measured and gradual approach would be more appropriate for the Liverpool cause.
'If you want to see Liverpool be more successful than in the last 25 years, you can do your small part, of course. If you want to portray me like Jesus, but then the next day say, 'no, he can't walk on water', then we have a problem. I can't walk on water. I dive into it.
Klopp, who is resuming his managerial career after a four year sabbatical, added that he understands the sense of urgency among Liverpool followers and promises change is on the way.
'Liverpool fans have been waiting for so many years that I can understand they are losing patience, but it doesn't work like that. Some things will change, because I am different to other managers, but we cannot change the whole world in one day.'
