The tandem of David McGoldrick and Callum Robinson have been key to Sheffield United's attack this season. Detractors such as Garth Crooks though have labelled their style of play as "basic".
Crooks was on BBC's Final Score on the weekend when Sheffield United were playing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. With Chelsea 1-0 up, Crooks took a shot at the Yorkshire team for their style of play.
"They're going to struggle, they lack potency up front and quite frankly I think their style of football is quite basic for the Premier League," Crooks said.
It didn't take long for Sheffield United fans to take to Twitter and argue about Crook's assessment. Many supporters felt he was way off the mark.
Speaking at Ireland's press conference ahead of the game against Switzerland on Thursday, Sheffield United forward David McGoldrick was the latest person to respond to Crook's comments.
"Their style of play is quite basic for the Premier League."

"I still think we're getting our critics you know, I heard Garth Crooks the other day say that we're going down and we're rubbish.
"I ain't got a clue what he took that morning, but he needs to thinks that we're not ordinary we play a different style.
"We've come with the same philosophy that we've used in the championship and I think we need to get a bit of respect for that," McGoldrick said.
Ireland will play Switzerland in the Aviva Stadium as part of the Euro 2020 qualifiers on Thursday. McGoldrick is hoping that he will be able to replicate the same partnership he has with Robinson at Sheffield United for Ireland.
"We've struck a little bond and hopefully we can bring that from club form into the national set-up.
"We're very flexible we can play in different positions if needed," he said.

After leaving Ipswich Town back in 2018, he had to go on trial with Sheffield United just to make the squad.
The Irish striker is not taking anything for granted at this stage of his career.
"If I am honest you know, a year ago looking at it when the phone wasn't ringing, the Premier League would have been a long way away.
"I was always confident that once I get myself sorted that I can go on and hit some form and I did that," the Sheffield United forward said.
