Thierry Henry has retired from professional football - and says he wasn't tempted to end his career with another Arsenal comeback.
The 37-year-old French World Cup winner left New York Red Bulls earlier this month and will return to live in London and take up a role with Sky Sports.
Henry won the Premier League twice and the FA Cup three times with the Gunners - and briefly re-joined on loan in 2012.
He says he has the desire to return as a coach one day - but not as a player.
“How many comebacks do you make,” Henry said. “It will turn into a bad movie. We all love the first Rocky but I don’t know about the last one.”
The former Monaco and Juventus forward was involved in a notorious handball incident during France’s World Cup qualifying play-off second leg against the Republic of Ireland in late 2009.
With the aggregate score tied at 1–1 in extra-time at the Stade de France, Henry used his hand twice to control the ball before delivering a cross to William Gallas who scored what proved to be the winner over two legs.
However, Arsenal's all-time leading scorer says he has “no regrets” looking back on his career and that he is “at peace” with what he did in football.
