As the soccer world continues to mourn the death of Johan Cruyff, one Premier League star pulled off one of the Dutch man's signature manoeuvres to commemorate his passing.
And it was possibly even more audacious than the original. With England trailing Germany 2-0, a swooping cross from a corner, landed at the foot of the Tottenham star who brazenly turned Cruyff-wise to leave Mezut Ozil no less, eating his proverbial dust.
And with sharp dink to the right, he fired a low range shot into the bottom corner of the net.
In the words of James McIlroy in Blades of Glory, 'that was textbook execution.' Kane's unplanned tribute to Cruyff served to propel England back into the contest. Leicester's Jamie Vardy equalised with a back heeler similar to Kane's and Erik Dier stepped up to nail the winner in stoppage time.
Great to see Harry Kane pay tribute to Johan Cruyff with his turn & @Dele_Alli to pay tribute to Chris Waddle with his blast over from 12yds

Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy were actually team mates at Leicester city in 2013. And they were both on the bench.

One day I will be able to tell my grandkids I saw Harry Kane turn into Johan Cruyff and Vardy into Zola for one night in Berlin! #ballerz

Can almost picture Johan Cruyff cracking a smile, putting down his cigar, as he glances down from heaven to see Harry Kane do that.
