Groenen goal guides Dutch to World Cup final

Jackie Groenen was the Netherlands' heroine as her goal booked their place in the FIFA Women's World Cup final at Sweden's expense.

The Manchester United-bound player scored in extra-time to set up the decider against holders USA.

The midfielder found the bottom corner of the net on 99 minutes. It was the moment that decided an evenly-matched fixture in favour of the European champions.

Afterr a flowing move, Groenen was teed up with an excellent lay-off. She finished precisely from 20 yards.

Tight

After a tight first half, both sides came closer in the second half, hitting the woodwork.

But neither side could find the elusive winner in normal time and they finished 0-0.

But it was Groenen who made the difference nine minutes into the first-half of extra-time to send the Dutch into their first World Cup final.

They will go in as underdogs against reigning champions USA, who beat England in their own semi-final.
