It appears reports that Aston Villa winger Jack Grealish was committing to play for the Republic of Ireland were premature.
It was widely reported in today's papers that the 19-year-old, who just signed a new four-year deal with Villa during the week, was going to play against the USA next month in a friendly.
However, the player himself has expressed reservations about the articles.
Grealish, who qualifies for Ireland through his Galway grandfather, and who has played all his underage football with Ireland, tweeted the following message to his fans:
Some stuff in the papers today about me that I didn't even no myself 🙈
