Since BT Sport launched in 2013, the landscape of sports coverage on television has changed drastically.
The broadcaster which encompasses channels BT Sport 1 and BT Sport 2, has acquired rights to show games from the Barclays Premier League, FA Cup, Rugby Champions Cup and Europa League among others.
Additionally from the 2015-16 season, BT Sport will have exclusive rights to the UEFA Champions League.
To tell us more about the direction BT Sport want to go in, the channel's senior executive producer Grant Best joined Ger on Off The Ball.
Comparing advances in the way sport has been shown on TV, Best believes more is done in the US in terms of camera angles and technology that gives the viewer more.
"In Ireland and the UK, we are a little bit behind. If you look at football coverage, it's being filmed on a single camera at the centre of the football pitch, about 60ft in the air. It goes left and right, up and down, zooms in and out, and is one camera for 90 per cent of your coverage," he said, highlighting how the computer game generation may influence TV coverage in the future.
"It's what we do around that which has given BT Sport its strong coverage. It's what has made Sky a great broadcaster. Can we take it to the next level and maybe changing that angle one day? That's going to be an interesting time."
Best also said he one day hopes to see the RefCam, which has appeared in rugby coverage, crossing over to football so that people can get an insight into refereeing decisions.
