Arsenal today announced on their website that Frenchman Olivier Giroud will be available for Saturday's contest at the Emirates.
A squad fitness update including the following news about Mikel Arteta and Giroud:
"Giroud and Arteta are both available. It's just a question of how ready they are. But they are available."
Arsenal have been without their first-choice striker since he broke his leg during a game against Everton in August. Giroud has made a remarkable recovery since the injury, and returns much earlier than expected.
"He is three or four weeks ahead of schedule. Originally we planned to have him back for competition at the beginning of next year. So he's one month ahead."
Man United meanwhile have just announced via Twitter that keeper David De Gea, who suffered a broken finger, and star winger Angel di maria will both be fit for the game.
Van Gaal says Angel Di Maria and @D_DeGea are fit for #mufc's game at Arsenal.
