John Giles has described Leicester City's Premier League title victory as a miracle but expects the traditional big clubs to come back stronger next season to prevent another surprise winner from emerging.
John was full of praise for the players and a "wise" Claudio Ranieri but believes it will be hard to repeat what happened in 2015-16.
"It's been a miracle in many ways. They've played brilliantly, the other top clubs didn't really compete in the way that you expect them to compete," he said on Off The Ball.
"I think what'll happen [will be] Liverpool should come back as a force next year under Klopp, Manchester City have Guardiola coming in, Chelsea have a new manager in Conte, so you would expect all those clubs - Manchester United - who did have the resources to tighten up in a way that they certainly didn't come up to scratch this year.
"So I'd expect Liverpool to improve next year, I would expect Man U probably to improve, Manchester City to improve on what they did this year. I'd say it would be very, very difficult for Leicester to repeat what they did this year even with the extra money."
But he also believes Leicester should do their utmost financially to keep their main stars like Riyad Mahrez and N'Golo Kante.
"Pay the money that's going to keep them because you can't repeat getting players in for next to nothing," he advises.
"I would pay them because you know what they can do, they've proven what they can do. Whereas you get somebody else in, they're unproven and you never know what's going to happen in the transfer market."
