Arsenal have completed a deal for Switzerland international Granit Xhaka according to Bild.
The German media outlet claims that the Gunners have sealed a €45 million deal to bring the Swiss international from Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach ahead of next season.
They claim Arsenal beat off competition from Premier League rivals Liverpool to push the deal through.
The attacking midfielder, who was in action for his country against Ireland in a friendly last Friday, has 40 international caps and six goals.
A midfielder, the 23-year-old was a key player for Switzerland at the last World Cup and is nailed on to be part of the squad for this summer's European Championships if fit.
Xhaka came through the highly regarded academy of his hometown club FC Basel in his native Switzerland before moving to the Bundesliga in 2012, signing for Borussia Monchengladbach and helping the club qualify for this season's Champions League.
