Gareth Bale struck late to hand Real Madrid victory and send them top of La Liga this evening.
The Welshman headed home Lucas Vazquez's cross in the 80th minute to seal the win at Estadio Anoeta which sees them leapfrog dearest rivals Atletico Madrid and Barcelona at the summit, with both sides still to play this weekend.
The hosts, who took three points off Barca earlier in the season, provided a stiff test for Zinidine Zidane's Cristiano Ronaldo-less team, but their resolve eventually broke as Bale headed home his 19th goal of the season.

Interesting times indeed as we approach the final few games in La Liga.
UPDATE:
Atletico defeated Rayo 1-0 thanks to an Antoine Griezzman strike in the second half of their game. That means Real slip to second while Atletico move one point clear at the top.
