Tomorrow morning, the Irish cricket team will begin their 2016 ICC World Twenty20 campaign against Oman.
The tournament, which is being hosted by India, sees Ireland starting off against the Gulf state at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala.
For anyone who was lucky enough to catch the Channel 4 show Walking The Himalayas with explorer and journalist Levison Wood, they will know it's a mountain range with so much more to offer than its main landmark Mount Everest.
The Dharamsala stadium (pictured above and below) is far from the only one with such beautiful views or a closeness to nature, but there are some other places around the globe where the sport on the pitch is not the only thing worth looking at.

Bolivia

The Bolivian capital of La Paz is the world's highest capital, and its Hernando Siles Stadium is beautifully laid out amid skyscrapers and mountain peaks.

Lichtenstein

Lichtenstein is not a football power (although they did hold Ireland to a 0-0 draw in 1995). But the tiny Alpine nation regularly gets to take on Europe's biggest teams in European Championship and World Cup qualifiers. Its stadium in the capital Vaduz has some extraordinary views.
Portugal

Built in 2003 ahead of Euro 2004, the home of Portuguese league club and occasional Champions League participants SC Braga has two stands and a quarry at one end of the ground.
Monaco

Not a stadium per se, but a sports venue once a year, for Formula One watchers, the Monaco Grand Prix's marina section is a joy to behold as the cars zoom out from the tunnel.
