Turkish prosecutors have issued an arrest warrant for former international Hakan Sukur, state media reports.
Sukur is believed to be wanted in relation to being involved with an armed terror group following last month's unsuccessful coup aimed at removing President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Searches were reportedly carried out at two houses in Turkey in relation to Sukur's charges but Sukur is believed to have moved to the US months ago.
The former Turkish international footballer is a support of the cleric behind the coup, Fethullah Gulen, who lives in the US but is wanted in Turkey as officials there try to arrange his extradition for pulling the strings of the coup that saw 270 people lose their lives and hundreds more injured.
