English-born player, Dom Dwyer, scored the opening goal for his team, Sporting Kansas City, but it was his celebratory moment that was to go down in history.
After the goal, in what looked very much pre-planned, Dwyer ran over to the edge of the pitch where he was handed his mobile phone by an acquaintance.
He quickly took a selfie with team mate Soony Saad and some delighted fans in the background.

He was given a yellow card by the referee, the first player ever to receive one for such an offence on the pitch.
The match against Chicago Fire ended in a 1-1 draw.
