Cork City were unable to emulate Dundalk's feat in Europe this evening as they crashed out of the Europa League at the hands of Belgian side Genk thi evening.
Two first half goals from Thomas Buffel and Sebastien Dewaest sent Genk on their way to a 2-1 victory at Turner's Cross, winning the tie 3-1 on aggregate.
John Caulfield's side headed into the game hoping to overturn a first leg 1-0 defeat but a goal after 13 minutes meant they would need three goals to progress.
