Luis Figo claims he has won the backing of six national football associations so he can qualify as a nominee to challenge Sepp Blatter for the FIFA presidency.
"I am very happy to confirm that my six nominations were delivered to FIFA this week ahead of the deadline," the former Portugal captain tweeted.
"I'd like to thank my colleagues and friends from the nominating FAs and across the football family who have already given me their backing."
According to reports, the six nations supporting the ex-Real Madrid, Barcelona and Inter Milan midfielder are Denmark, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland and Portugal.
