As midnight Sunday morphed into Monday morning, the Premier League table would have looked quite beautiful to the eye of a Tottenham fan.
After the 4 - 0 win over QPR yesterday, Spurs have managed two wins from two to top the table and while it is still early days, manager Mauricio Pochettino seems to be making a positive impact with players signed last season.
The Guardian's London football correspondent Dominic Fifield told us that the players who were signed but flopped last season like Nacer Chadli and Erik Lamela look "transformed".
"I think they're fit. Both of those players had issues with injuries last season which maybe nullified their impact when they arrived in England with the physicality of the league. That made life difficult for them," said Fifield.
But work on the training ground under the notoriously relentless Pochettino seems to have helped the squad as a whole.
"His pre-seasons are infamous. It's triple training, three sessions a day. His players at Southampton and Espanyol said he was a nightmare to work with in terms of the week but they loved him at the weekend when they reaped the benefits of the hard work. With Lamela and Chadli, he's shown them a bit of love and used them in the right way."
Fifield explained that the way Chadli has been used as a winger that cuts in seems to be bringing the best out of him, while he believes a free role is bringing the best out of Lamela who is not required to track back as much.
But bigger tests await with Liverpool on the horizon - the Reds thrashed them home and away in 2013/14 - which tempers expectations somewhat.
Fifield mused whether there will be more signings and also touched on the potential outgoings from the club including Michael Dawson.
He also gave his take on Tottenham's chances of breaking into the Top Four.
