A day out in Wembley supporting your hometown club is part of what the FA Cup is all about, but that dream was almost snatched away from Everton supporter Dan and his son.
The two were supposed to head to London earlier today for the Toffee's FA Cup semi-final clash with Manchester United, but their coach never showed up, meaning the two would have to watch the game from home.
Dan took to Twitter to express his disappointment and vent his frustrations about being let down, while also sharing an image of his heartbroken son.
Stuck at the rocket with my 5 year old after our coach never showed #gutted

Thanks for all the tweets. My lads gutted but he's not one to kick off luckily. Not even arsed about the money. Almost home

Following the tweets, many were quick to empathize with the two and as the story spread across the social networking site, Virgin Trains came in with an amazing goodwill gesture for the Goodison regulars, offering them a place on one of their London bound trains.
@Dan_EFC1878 @Everton Dan could you confirm your full name via Direct Message please? I'm trying to get in touch with #VTLiverpool ^CB

A wonderful story that has even expanded outside of the football community, with Birmingham boxer Tony Bellew coming in with an offer of his own.
