The FAI has announced the appointment of a recruitment agency to aid their selection of a new board.
Irish football's governing body, in conjunction with the Governance Review Group, has appointed the executive search firm Amrop as their search partner for the selection of independent directors to a new 12-person Board.
The recruitment company's official website states: "Amrop is proud to be one of the world's largest international retained executive search networks with the widest geographical coverage in the industry."
At the FAI's Annual General Meeting in Trim last Saturday Donal Conway and Paul Cooke were elected as President and Vice President respectively.
The six football constituency Directors were also nominated to an Interim Board.
In a statement released today the association says that "the commitment to add four more independent directors will be aided by a world-leading executive search firm."
The FAI adds that the search will be conducted by Amrop and will "focus on specifically recruiting an independent non-executive chairperson and three additional independent non-executive directors."
These positions will be publicly advertised in three different newspapers over this coming weekend.
Re-elected President, Donal Conway, said after the AGM that he was voted back onto the organisation's board to continue "work on reform".
He was the only candidate for the role and won the ballot by 134 votes out of a possible 140, with five people voting against and one person abstaining.
"I would like to think we would bring together anything up to 15 or 20 CVs," said Conway after the agm. "We will look at the eight football members and see what skill do we need to compliment them. That will bring four forward.
"Obviously we will have to give serious consideration to gender, as the eight that have come forward are eight males, so that's a matter we have to consider seriously.
"When this interim board is over and another board is established, it's only got one year to fulfill that obligation of one-third membership being female."
