Former Ireland midfielder Keith Andrews says fan pressure led his former manager Steve Kean to drop him while at Blackburn Rovers.
Andrews was on Off The Ball yesterday and shared a conversation that he had with the successor to Sam Allardyce about how fan pressure and the willingness to get fans back onside saw him left out.
"One of the big reasons I left Blackburn was because I wasn't getting selected as much as I wanted. The manager at the time, Steve Kean, told me that was a part of his selection, that the fans were getting on my case and he was bound to their pressure a little bit because he'd obviously just got in the job and wanted to make a good impression and he admitted that to me," he said.
