Everton have joined city neighbours Liverpool in paying tribute to those who passed away in the Hillsborough tragedy.
The inquest into the Hillsborough disaster in which 96 football fans died has ruled that they were unlawfully killed.
The jury found that police errors had created the dangerous situation at the FA Cup semi-final fixture and that failures by commanding officers caused a crush on the terraces.
After a 27-year campaign by the families of the victims, the fans were exonerated of any wrong-doing.
Following the verdict, Everton released a statement on their Facebook page paying tribute to the victims as well as those who fought for justice since 1989:
"Everton Football Club salutes the Hillsborough families and their total vindication as Fighters for Justice.
"Theirs is the greatest victory in the history of football. RIP, the 96. Good night, God bless.
"From us across the Park."
