Edwin Van der Sar had a successful return to football after he saved a penalty for amateur side VV Noordwijk.
The former Manchester United goalkeeper was coaxed out of retirement for one game following an injury crisis at Dutch side VV Noordwijk and the hassle the team went to get Van Der Sar to tog out for them paid off. The penalty save proved important as Noordwijk snatched a late draw with a goal in injury time to make the scoreline 1-1.

Van der Sar's last competitive game was the Champions League final in Wembley when Barcelona defeated Manchester United in 2011. The penalty save was reminiscent of Van Der Sar's save on Nicolas Anelka to win the Champions League for his side in 2008. He pointed in the opposite direction before reaching to the opposite side and saving the strike.
