This season has not been a vintage one for Manchester City and neither has it been for many of their key players.
One of those players not quite at peak form is playmaker David Silva and ex-Chelsea and Everton winger Pat Nevin reckons the Spain international is being hampered by not having a good team around this season.
"If you stick him in a really good Spanish side just now, I think he'll still be great with a lot of good players moving around him, lots of options, stretching play, making space for him. I still think he'd be fine because he's not absolutely dependent on being incredibly quick. The brain's still there, the touch is still there but I think he needs a good team around him to look like a world class player at the moment and he's absolutely not got that," he told Off The Ball tonight.
Pat also talked about the potential of Manchester United and Arsenal youngsters Marcus Rashford and Alex Iwobi, who both scored in wins at the weekend, while he joked that Manchester City defender Martin Demichelis could go into football folklore if his poor form continues with a new phrase like he's "having a Demichelis" as a potential new saying.
Plus he feels the Top 4 will be in flux for the foreseeable future as new teams topple the established order and also believes Wayne Rooney's days as the lead option to the lead the line for England is now in the past as the likes of Harry Kane establish themselves.
