Dan Murray assesses Cork City's "strongest squad" in a decade

Former Cork City captain Dan Murray feels the current squad is the strongest the club has had in the past decade.

Murray was part of the Cork side which won the league title in 2005, while John Caulfield's men have finished second in the last two seasons.

The ex-centre-back who retired at Cork City at the end of last season, joined Oisin Langan and Richie McCormack on this week's Airtricitiy League podcast to talk about this year's edition.

"It's probably the strongest squad Cork's had probably for close to 10 years," said Murray of the side which sits third in the table, four points behind Dundalk.

"Even if you look at the bench that they have, it's very strong and you take one player out and you can pretty much replace them with somebody as good really.

"It's the most attacking options I can remember Cork having for a good bit and they're all bringing something different and so far, so good. They'll get better over the course of the season."

Murray also spoke about how he is finding life in retirement.
