Granada's record signing, Jose Angulo, is in the process of having his transfer cancelled after a failed doping test after last year's Copa Libertadores.
The Ecuadorian international striker joined Paco Jemez' Granada during the summer for a reported €4 million but the club have informed the former Independiente del Valle player that his contract is suspended until the results of the B sample are known and he has not trained with the club since the results became known.
In an official statement released by the club, they say:
"Granada CF has received official communication from the South American Football Confederation that Jose "Tin" Angulo tested positive in an anti-doping test.
"The test was done during the last Copa Libertadores, when Angulo was a player for Independiente del Valle."
"Our club hopes that the results of the B sample are favourable for the interests of our player."
Angulo's former club enjoyed an unprecedented run to the final of the Copa only to lose out to Atletico Nacional in the ultimate game. Angulo scored six times and was one of their standout players thus earning himself a move to La Liga.
The 21-year-old attracted interest from Stoke City during the summer along with interest from France, Italy and Spain.
