Coleman looking forward to making "good memories" in France

Seamus Coleman has admitted his licence to roam has been curtailed by the return of Gerard Duelofeu to Everton this season.

I spoke to Coleman following Everton's 1-1 draw with Tottenham at Goodison Park yesterday and the Donegal defender says his failure to score a goal this season is, in part, down to Duelofeu hogging his touchline.

"It means I can't get around him or get wide. I'm more inside playing the ball to him, but that's working better for the team so I've no complaints", he said.

While this season may not have lived up to expectations with his club, there is plenty to look forward to with his country - Coleman will head to Euro 2016 as the first name on Martin O'Neill's team-sheet.

"There's times where you're sitting at home and you think about it and look forward to the summer ahead but the most important now is playing well for your club and making sure I'm there, It was great to qualify, the way we did, and it's something the whole country is looking forward to but we've got games thick and fast here at Everton.

"There will be evenings, though, where it just pops into your head."

It's still hard to believe that Giovanni Trapattoni left Coleman out of his 23 to go to Poland 4 years ago, that experience means Coleman is keen take it all in this time around.

"There's a few of us that keep in touch. I'm quite friendly with Meyler and McClean and the Everton lads. We've got a very good group at the minute, a good team spirit, and we're all delighted to be part of it.

"Hopefully when we go there, we can make many good memories."
