Claudio Ranieri wants Robert De Niro to play him if Leicester make it to the big screen

Leicester City has become synonymous with the word 'fairytale' and as they close in on a maiden Premier League title, there has been talks that their success will be played out on the big screen.

Vinnie Jones has been suggested as the man who would take the role of former Foxes boss Nigel Pearson, while Zac Efron has been a name floated to portray the goalscoring feats of Jamie Vardy.

As for Claudio Ranieri, the man who has masterminded the most unlikely of title challenges? Well, he says he'd like one of Hollywood's biggest names to play his role, namely Robert De Niro.

"I heard something about that," the Italian told The Sun. "Why not? He’s a fantastic actor."

Leicester City can go ten points clear at the top of the league with victory over West Ham tomorrow and three of their squad has already been nominated for the player of the year award.

Just three wins will see them secure the Premier League crown for the first time, so it's easy to see why this fairytale could translate onto the big screen.
